BIC is a voluntary and informal organization to effect the exchange of information and materials for the improvement of bean production worldwide. Members include scientists, students, private organizations and lay-people.

The Bean Improvement Cooperative holds a biennial meeting at which members and colleagues from a number of diverse disciplines can interact and exchange information on bean improvement. Several of our researchers attended the very successful meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico in October 2011 and the next meeting will be held in Portland, Oregon in October 2013.
